The History of KUNESA

Founded exactly 100 years ago the carpenter’s shop Scherer in Weiskirchen specialized itself on the production of doors, windows and stairs.

After the take-over of Mr. Matthias Scherer during the fifties, the company began to move into the market segment of fitting the interiors of pharmacies.

The invention of the drawer cabinet in the year 1968 changed everything and created a huge upswing.
Until this date KUNESA has fitted about 2000 pharmacies and produced more than 1 million drawers.
Subsequently products for the organisation of pharmacies were introduced in the marketplace, such as the ABDA- and ordercards, punchcards and a lot of other accessories.
The company maintains its own printing shop, injection moulding for plastics, a tool making department and a metal shop.
During the beginning of the nineties another milestone was the introduction of a patented, fully automated warehouse system for medication packages, the KLS-system.

In the year 2003, Mr. Felix Scherer took over the company in the third generation.
