Project description
Renewal and modernisation of the existing pharmacy. Replacement and repositioning of a dispensing robot.
Structural work
Flooring: renewal of the floor coverings. Electrical work: renewal of the electrical installations and adaptation of the existing lighting. Joinery: renewal of all sales-area furniture such as counters, self-selection and behind-the-counter display, and shop-window furniture. Other: minor adjustments by the plumbing, painting and air-conditioning trades.
Refurbishment process
The refurbishment took place while the pharmacy stayed open. Thanks to the layout, the sales area could be divided quite easily into two construction phases. Refurbishing both areas took 4 weeks.
Design concept
The redesigned pharmacy interior combines traditional pharmacy aesthetics with modern design elements, creating a high-quality, inviting and at the same time functional atmosphere. Characteristic features are the warm-toned walnut-décor wooden surfaces, reminiscent of classic pharmacy interiors and lending a natural, timeless feel. The self-selection and display shelving with its curved arches picks up traditional forms and gives the room an elegant, crafted character. The small-format drawer fronts support the effect of a classic interior, yet behind them lies a wide drawer that can be used efficiently.
Light and centrepiece
Indirect LED lighting, targeted spotlights and clean lines provide a modern contrast. The lighting showcases the product presentation effectively while emphasising the architectural forms of the interior. The centrally placed, rounded counters form the heart of the room. Their organic shape creates a pleasant transition between the customer area and the workstation. The result is a harmonious combination of classic pharmacy tradition, modern functionality and contemporary interior design.
